Busy! Busy!

Weekends are generally our time to get some  R & R  but this weekend, it seemed we were moving the whole time! Friday evening after Michael got off work, we went out for a date night! We hit up Pizza Pie Cafe, Target, then we headed to the Clarke Planetarium so we could watch the Pink Floyd light show! Michael absolutely adores Pink Floyd and I haven't heard much,
so I surprised him Friday evening when I said we had tickets!
The show doesn't start until 11:00pm so we had lots of time to play!

This elevator is absolutely gigantic! So... we took pictures in front of it :)

Saturday morning, we woke up super early and headed to Sugarhouse where we participated in the heart walk! Basically it was to raise money/awareness for heart problems. We brought Frank with us and let me tell you, that 5k really tuckered him out! I ended up carrying him some of it! Good thing he is so adorable!

Michael and his brothers did the entire 5k in a speed walk.
I've never been so proud!

We spent the afternoon watching these adorable kiddos! Michael started out reading the book about dinosaurs to the kids but ended up getting too sucked into it to keep explaining it to them. I absolutely adore his love for knowledge and facts!

I know this is a terrible picture, but it was a last  minute decision and we were on the move! Our night ended eating dinner and hanging out with our dear friends, the Bedingfields! We are so lucky to have them in our lives! We definitely wouldn't be the same without them!

All in all, it was an extremely successful weekend! All we have to do today is the Ogden Temple Dedication, watch movies, and wait for bedtime! What a glorious Sabbath! This week will be one for the books as well! I'm starting at Mountain America  A N D  my best friend, Hannah, is coming home from her mission! I am as giddy as a school girl!

Succulents

I've been debating how to to present this blog post for a while now. If you are a reader, you know how much I have loved working for America First. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.
It seems crazy to me how things could be going so well only to wake up one morning and have your world fall apart. In respect to  A F C U ,  I won't go into details about what happened, but I will say I wasn't very happy with the way certain things were handled and I ended up deciding to quit.

That being said, I have been in a bit of a rut. I have loved working there and most of my coworkers were bomb. The evening that everything occurred with  A F C U ,  we had a little  F H E  at our home. My cousin Allison and her husband Jordan came over before the other guests arrived and we discussed the situation. Both were appalled by how I was treated and Jordan, being the thoughtful person he is, immediately texted his old manager at Mountain America. I applied for a position there the next day and was interviewed the day after that. A couple of days later, I was offered the job. I understand how incredibly lucky I am to have family who is willing to watch out for me, and I am eternally indebted to Jordan but not working with some of my best friends really shook me.
It took a couple of days to get over it. Which if you know me, is a long time. I deal with things pretty quickly. I ended up buying a couple of unnecessary things, (Oops!) crafting a little, but what ended up helping me was these little S U C C E L E N T S ! Planting them and having them placed in our room has been strangely therapeutic for me! I don't understand why they have helped for some unknown reason, they have.

Here is to a new beginning.
I'm sure one day I will understand why this experience had to occur but until then,
I will only be looking up!
